Site Services Technician

Atlantic Gold Corporation continues to expand our team and are seeking a Site Services Technician for our Moose River Consolidated Mine. Moose River Consolidated Mine is Atlantic Gold’s flagship mine located approximately one hour outside of Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada and went into production in fall 2017. Work at one of the best new mines in North America, while living near a city regularly rated as one of the most livable in Canada.

Reporting to the Site Services Supervisor, the Site Services Technician is responsible for the maintenance needs of the mine site outside of the production facilities. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Be a safety Champion – Mentor, monitor and self-police site safety policies and procedures
  • Work with contractors, and subtrades, and site staff on site issues
  • Coordinate, monitor and project manage onsite contractors
  • Repair or carry out modifications related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance work
  • Install mine signage
  • Monitor Fuel inventory (with dip stick) and some site fuel distribution
  • Coordinate grey water pick up
  • Sweep public road crossing
  • Clear snow/ice from walkways and parking areas
  • Use various site pumps and relocation
  • Site clean-up as required and general labor work
  • Landscaping of mine common areas: grass cutting, planting, and watering
  • Data recording
  • Assist with warehouse deliveries as needed
  • Service modular buildings with household handyman duties
  • Maintain electric boot trays
  • Inspect and manage preventative maintenance system
  • Assist other departments as necessary when required

Environmental Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Maintain erosion control/silt fence installations
  • Uphold mine site water control: culvert installations, ditching, parking lots, including water truck operation, and grader operation as required
  • Sustain dust control
  • Preserve water sample trails


  • Current and Valid Class 5
  • Experience operating light-mid size industrial equipment (Skid Steer, Bob Cat, Class 3 License, Snow Plow operation),
  • Heavy Equipment Operator experience an asset: backhoe, grader, loader
